Searching for funds
If you simply want to find out about a particular fund, then you can do this easily in Dynamic Planner via the search bar at the top of every screen.
As one of the most widely used aspects of Dynamic Planner, we’re sure you’d like to know what plans we have for supporting Fund Research. The great news is there is a lot of information available now to help you research funds, and over the coming months more is being worked on to add more functionality.

If you simply want to find out about a particular fund, then you can do this easily in Dynamic Planner via the search bar at the top of every screen.
Clicking on a fund will take you through to the fund information page where you can see more information:
If you need a bit more functionality, then the Fund Search tool is available in the Research area. This gives you a little more functionality over the search bar, and allows you to:
This allows you to view details for whole of market funds and MPS portfolios which are profiled by Dynamic Planner.
Regardless of how you find the funds, or indeed if you’re looking at funds held by your clients as part of the Client Review process, a wealth of fund information is only a click away. On the fund information page you can see:

The fund information screen has been updated to include the risk chart
The functionality to manage your firm’s* shortlists and model portfolios is now available.
As with our Product and Platform research, all research will be linked to a target market, helping you drive efficiencies and clarity in your firm’s investment proposition.
If you have a list of funds or MPS portfolios that are aligned to a particular target market then you can save these as a shortlist. The shortlist administration screen will allow you to upload a spreadsheet of funds if these are coming from elsewhere, or you can use the fund search tool to find and link the funds.
*The new system will only have firm models/shortlists available from the old system, if you have any my models/shortlists which you wish to keep then please download as RTF which will provide the data needed to use the new upload function.

If you have in-house / advised model portfolios that are part of your investment proposition then these too can be linked to a target market using the model portfolio administration screen. This also allows you to upload funds via a simple spreadsheet, making the admin process quick and simple. Each model portfolio is allocated to a Dynamic Planner risk profile, and we will show you the asset allocation and risk charts to help you ensure the portfolio is positioned as you wish.

For both shortlists and models, once linked to a target market you will be able to provide justification wording which will then be able to be imported into client specific suitability reports via the Recommendations process. You can see this in action as part of the keynote speech from our conference earlier this year.
Whilst the fund search tool exposes some of the filters, we know it does not do everything that is needed for a fund research process.
In May we released the new Investment Solutions process into Dynamic Planner. This supports:
If you know which fund you are interested in and you simply want to find out more about it, then use the Fund Search tool which is available now.
If you want to conduct a top down screening process and compare funds, then the Investment Solutions research process will allow you to filter, review and download reports on funds.
